We want our potential
customers to know
the process we use in
creating their custom
web site.
Below are the typical stages of a
web design project.
1. The Initial Consultation/Requirements
Gathering
We
meet with you and your group in person to talk
through the
requirements and goals of your project. You also learn our process. This
is a chance for you to ask us any questions you may
have about the process. Communication
is a major part of a successful web site project,
and at this early stage, we encourage you to ask
questions so you can feel at ease.
2. A Proposal is Created
Once
we have gathered enough information about
your project, we
will prepare a comprehensive proposal.
With
this in hand, you will
know how we solve your challenge, what the cost
is, and how
long the process is estimated to take.
3.
The Contract is Reviewed
and Signed
Once you have reviewed
the proposal, and it meets your needs, we create
the final contract. Our contract
has all the details of
the project as well as
the other legal stuff.
It solidifies
our agreement together. When the contract is signed,
work promptly begins.
4. We Provide the Design
Mockup
The
first phase of the web site development process
is creating design
mockups based on your preferences (layouts,
colors, etc).
After some feedback and review cycles, we provide final professional looking
design. We then move on to content gathering and
site creation.
5. The Gathering of Content
The
heart of any web site is the information it contains.
The best web site design in the
world will be useless if the site does not
provide relevant content
for its target audience.
In this stage, we help
you gather (and if needed,
help create) the
content that
will go on each page of
your web site. This also involves choosing images
and photos that complement the text.
6. Creating the Web Site/Search
Engine Optimization Strategy
Once
we have settled the content for the web site,
our team adds it to your site. During this development,
we communicate with you regularly to let
you know how things are
progressing. Using HTML,
CSS, Javascript and all
the other geeky web stuff
that happens behind the
scenes, our team of developers
do their thing.
At this point, we are also
implementing any search
engine marketing techniques you
requested. This process makes sure your site will rank
well for
the keywords your target
market is entering in the
search engines. Finally
we make sure all pages
are fully accessible (to
those visiting who me have hearing
or visual impairment).
7. Site Launch
When
the entire site has been reviewed by you, and the
final okay is given, we upload the site to the
web server (if you web
site hosting, we have that in place
and ready to go). We always do a final check
once the site is "live" to
make sure everything is A-okay.
At that point, the new
web site is ready for traffic!
8. Ongoing Support/Maintenance/Training
If
included in your contract, we
conduct ongoing web
site maintenance to
make sure your search engine rankings are high and
that fresh content is added
to your site on a regular
basis. It is important to avoid letting web site
content go stale. We also have a Certified
Instructor on staff
who is available to teach
your staff how to maintain
and update your site if needed. This is a great
option to take advantage of if you already have
the staff who can take your web site project and
run with it.
